About Jessica Antonicic:

Jessica Antonicic is a Certified Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia, with over 14 years of experience in the veterinary field. She has experience working in several areas of veterinary medicine including general practice, research and specialty surgery.

Jessica graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BS in Zoology, followed by a Certification in Veterinary Technology from Joliet Junior College in 2002. After an externship at Northwestern University in Chicago, Jessica became an Animal Care Coordinator and Surgical Technician at Rush University Medical Center, working with investigators to plan and perform surgical procedures with multiple species of research animals, including non-human primates. In 2005, Jessica returned to private practice as a Surgical Technician at Arboretum View Animal Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. For the next 4 years, she continued to develop advanced surgical skills in critical patient monitoring, ventilator use, placing urinary, jugular, arterial and central venous catheters, and administering blood products.

In 2008, Jessica received an advanced certification in anesthesia as a VTS, which was recently renewed in 2013. Jessica spent a year as a Surgical Technician at CARE Animal Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL, before joining the surgery team at MedVet Chicago (formerly Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center) as an Anesthesia Technician in 2010. Jessica has had the opportunity to attend several major veterinary conferences including the ACVS Symposium, IVECCS, and ISVMA and has also presented continuing education programs at ISVMA and several local CE events.
