Two days of lecture and wet labs focusing on canine dentistry.  For veterinarians.

At the end of the two day course, you will be able to:

  • Identify clinically relevant oral and tooth anatomy
  • Obtain and interpret diagnostic full mouth dental radiographs
  • Diagnose and treat oral disease that you see in your practice every day
  • Have increased skill and confidence performing extractions, regional nerve blocks, periodontal surgery and retrieving fractured root tips

Day one begins with interactive lecture topics, including:

  • Clinically relevant maxillofacial and tooth anatomy
  • Pain management
  • Dental radiograph interpretation

The afternoon wet lab will allow participants to have hands on instruction and practice performing regional nerve blocks and obtaining diagnostic dental radiographs.

Day two lecture topics include:

  • Periodontal surgery
  • Surgical extractions
  • Complications of extractions

The afternoon wet lab will teach participants how to complete oral surgery to extract teeth, retrieve fractured root tips and complete periodontal surgery.

All equipment for the laboratory will be provided.  Participants may wish to bring magnification and a scrubtop.

Registration fee includes: Breakfast, lunch, refreshments, seminar, seminar notes, and continuing education credits.

  • Pain Management in Oral Surgery

2 pm – 5 pm: Hands On Lab

  • Regional Nerve Blocks and Obtaining Diagnostic Dental Radiographs
